Deaf Café, Westgate-on-Sea
Gina May Events is proud to announce the arrival of the Deaf Café in Westgate-on-Sea. This is a coffee morning for members of the Deaf Community, those who regularly interact with the hearing impaired, and for those who’d like to know more about signing and what it is to have a hearing impairment. This not for profit event is to raise awareness of the Deaf Community and to provide a meeting place for this under represented yet large community group in Westgate and Thanet as a whole. As with the Friendship café there are games and biscuits, and tea and coffee, so come on down and enjoy a cuppa and a chat. The venue is well behaved dog friendly, and ALL are welcome. Tea and coffee with biscuits is a nominal £1.50 and refills are free.
The Deaf Café is open on the Third Friday of the Month, 9.30-12.00 starting from 19th July 2019, at The Westgate-on-Sea Town Council Offices, St Mildred’s Road, Westgate-on-Sea.

Westgate Quiz #3 Goes from Strength to Strength!
What a great night at the Westgate Quiz! Six teams all vying for the main cash prize and the competition could not be closer. Just a small matter of three points between first and second, all down to some key strategic playing of the Joker and cleaning up on the static table rounds.
A fantastic night replete with humour, music and laughter along with some devilish brain teasing questions. Thank you to all who came and we look forward to seeing you all again next month with the Westgate Quiz #4! 29th April 2019.

Hot off the press! Yet more new courses to be delivered at The Centre, Birchington. By popular demand Gina May Events is pleased to confirm that French for Beginners, a gentle introduction to every day French over six weeks is now available to book. The course is immediately followed by a French Conversation Coffee Morning, ‘Réunion-des-Amis’ where French speakers of all abilities can hone their conversational French over coffee. In addition, a six week course embracing the works of the Great Bard William Shakespeare – Shakespeare in Love – the story behind the great loves and losses contained in his work will be discovered.
Supporting the learning, there are some set books for each class available from Amazon in both new and second hand formats. Alternatively, it can be purchased from the tutor on the first day of the course, by prior arrangement.
Each of these new courses run for six weeks from the first week in April and the price is held at the same £75 charged for previous courses, and the coffee mornings are £3.50 weekly.

Following on from the success of Latin for Beginners, World Myths – Ancient Greece, and Art Appreciation – The Renaissance, new courses in Ancient Greek for Beginners, Witchcraft in the Ancient World, and Art Appreciation – The Pre-Raphaelites are now available to book places on.
Ancient Greek for Beginners is supported by a set course book available from Amazon in used or new condition, or from the tutor at the beginning of the course by prior arrangement only.

Reading for Pleasure
Reading for pleasure – Wednesdays 11.15-12.45 starting from 6th February
£3.50 weekly
No prior reading or preparation is needed for this friendly and relaxed group. Each week we will talk about different authors their work. Short sections of texts will be provided to look at over a cuppa and a slice of cake.
Please notify us at the time of booking if stairs may be a problem so that we can accommodate this.
